Small eared treefrog

Rheohyla miotympanum

It is a small sized frog. It has a smooth skin with light green coloration, some individuals have small dark spots. It inhabits a wide variety of habitats preferring well preserved forest. It is usually found close to water bodies, where males congregate during breeding season, as other explosive breeders, and call to attract females. It has prominent digital discs in its fingers and toes which allows this species climb on any surface. They are always found on tree branches, bushes, or rocky walls. It is endemic to Mexico and it is threatened by water pollution.
