Porthole treefrog
Charadrahyla taeniopus
It is one of the largest frogs in Cuetzalan. It has a smooth green skin with dark spots of variable size; however, this species can change colo, depending on environmental conditions, and sometimes between day and night. It only inhabits inside the forest, and it is usually associated to rivers and streams where it breeds. It has prominent digital discs in its fingers and toes which allows this species climb on any surface. They are always found on tree branches or rocky walls. This species is endemic to Mexico, it is distributed in Puebla, Hidalgo and Veracruz. It is mainly threatened because people use it as food.
