It is a tiny salamander which reaches only 3cm long. It has a very long tail, about the same size of its body and very short limbs. Its dorsal skin has a reddish Brown coloration with some golden “V” form patcches. Pigmy salamander is a terrestrial species, which hides in the leaf litter and can be found only during humid nights. This species also belongs to the group of lungless salamanders, which means that it breaths only through skin, that is why its skin must be always humid. It is a direct developing amphibian; tiny fully developed salamanders emerge from its eggs.  It is distributed in Puebla and Veracruz. This species has been found only twice in Cuetzalan.
