It is a big frog. Its has a smooth green skin with black dorsal spots. its snout is pointy, and it has prominent eyes. This species is always associated to ponds, inside the forest or in disturbed areas. They are active during the day, basking around the ponds. But they call at night during the breeding season. Leopard frog is very agile, it can jump long distances because its hindlimbs are very strong. When they feel threatened, they immediately jump into the water. Their tadpoles are very big. It has a wide distribution, from the United States to Central America.
