It is the largest toad from Mexico, it can grow more than 20cm. It has a coarse brown skin, with a pair of big parotid glands behind the eyes. It can be found in a wide variety of habitats because it adapts very well to disturbed areas. During rainy season males call in temporary pools where females will come and lay their eggs. This species has a wide distribution from Mexico to South America.
