It is a medium sized frog. It has a slightly rugous skin, with big brown patches over a green background. It inhabits inside the forest but it can also be found in disturbed areas close to temporary ponds where they breed. Males have two vocal sacs. Its call is very loud and it can be heard at very long distances. It has prominent digital discs in its fingers and toes which allows this species climb on any surface. They are always found on tree branches, bushes, or rocky walls. It is distributed from Texas to Central America.
